JULIE THOMPSON – FULL BIO

Julie Thompson has been singing, songwriting and playing the piano since the age of 14 and in recent years has established herself as a leading international artist capable of creating atmospheric lyrics and delivering warm vocals on numerous high profile dance releases in collaboration with A-list producers such as Tiësto, Freestylers, James Holden, Freemasons, Richard Durand and Andy Duguid.

Julie Thompson first shot to fame with her debut offering alongside James Holden in 2003; Holden & Thompson 'Nothing' became an instant classic thanks to its distinctive progressive house vibe and fantastic top line and was signed by Fatboy Slim for his Loaded/Skint label as well as appearing on leading CDs mixed by DJs as diverse as Deep Dish ('Global Underground') and Paul van Dyk ('Politics Of Dancing'). Their follow-up single 'Come To Me' was met withsimilar cross-genre support when released in 2005.

In between the James Holden collaborations, Julie had the opportunity to write for UK breakbeat act the Freestylers, writing the top line and delivering vocals on the tracks 'Losing You' and 'Too Far' that featured on the critically acclaimed album 'Raw As F**k'. The success of these singles led to a year and a half on the road touring with the Freestylers around Europe and Asia which saw Julie Thompson perform on some of the biggest festival stages such as Glastonbury and V Festival.

In 2006 Julie teamed up with Alan Bremner of Brothers In Rhythm fame to write ‘Last Goodbye’ under the ‘Attic’ alias, released on Dave Seaman's Audio Therapy label, while also making inroads into the house scene, teaming up with the Freemasons for ‘You’re Not Alone Now’ on their ‘Shakedown’ album.

Doors were really beginning to open in Julie's career now, and none bigger than when a call came in from the world's number one DJ Tiësto in 2007 to collaborate on 'Do You Feel Me' on the highly successful album 'Elements of Life'. Julie then went on the Elements Of Life world tour touring with Tiësto to perform to hundreds of thousands all over the globe over a period of several months, and the pair teamed up again in the studio to write and record 'Somewhere Inside', under the ‘Allure ft. Julie Thompson’ guise.

Julie Thompson continued to display her diversity by joining forces with Andy Duguid in 2008 and co-writing three tracks for his 'Believe' album, and the success of their partnership prompted Julie to work closely with Andy again when opening the next exciting chapter in her career by writing and recording her debut solo artist album. 'Feeling For Corners' not only displayed Julie's qualities as a lyricist and a vocalist, but also as a matured, fully developed artist standing on her own two feet. Released on Black Hole Recordings in 2009 to huge critical acclaim, with Richard Durand and Kid Massive remixing 'It Only Hurts' and Zoo Brazil reworking 'What Will I Do' for single releases.

In recent months Julie Thompson released the 'My Enemy' single with Super8 & Tab on Anjunabeats and has made her first production with 'Richard Durand' titled 'Diamonds In The Sky' which has been selected for the new 'In Search Of Sunrise 9' compilation. Julie joined Integrity Artist Management in May 2011 and we're pleased to announce that plans are well underway for a follow-up artist album to 'Feeling For Corners'.
