Music Conference ASIA uncovers its full line up for its official festival stage, GLOBAL SOUND SYSTEM! Music Conference ASIA and Global Sound System will take you on an audiovisual adventure this 27 April with top of the class, legendary electronic music acts – international and local.
On top of the bill, witness the highly reputable Grammy-nominated music producer, platinum-selling artist, film composer and technologist Brian Transeau better known as BT for his first appearance in Music Conference ASIA. Dubbed as “MacGyver of electronica” by Wired magazine, BT formulates his production to create a perfect sound equation. Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk and the legendary Tiesto have remix BT releases, while others have the privileged to collaborate with him such as singer/ songwriter Nadia Ali, JES and world-renowned artists such as Sting, Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan. He has consistently been crafting dancefloor destroyers and received massive supports from prominent DJs around the world. The #5 America’s Best DJ of 2012 will be dishing out his enigmatic electronica sound at the forefront of the action!
Currently sitting at #55 in DJ Mag Top 100 list, John O’Callaghan is set to take charge on an electrifying musical expedition at the festival stage. Firmly established in the A-list electronic music elite, he has notched-up countless productions and released them on some of the most respected labels in the industry including the hit ‘Big Sky’ which was voted #1 tune of 2007 on Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance radio show, and ‘Find Yourself’, a global success with 3 million views on YouTube. He is widely regarded as one of the most in-demand remixers in electronic dance music today. Paul van Dyk dubbed him as “one of the most exciting producers in the world today”. Be sure to catch the mixmeister epic performance at Global Sound System stage.
Voted #1 DJ by Mixmag reader’s poll and charted in DJ Mag Top 100, the legendary DJ, producer, well-known radio presenter and the brainchild behind Ibiza’s busiest night – Judgement Sundays, Judge Jules will return to our shores for a musical bedlam. His DJ sets are the epitome of what DJing is about; passion and crowd-connection, amazing tunes and a set of hands capable of the most nimble of mixing. A high profile radio personality of the then Kiss FM, BBC Radio 1 and now internationally-syndicated Global Warm Up show, he is set to drop bombs at Global Sound System stage. The multi-award winning Judge won’t BUDGE!!
Felix Da Housecat has gained mainstream press acceptance and has been heralded by Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone and Spin Magazine as one of the most creative artists in music today. Dance music is lucky to have people like Felix Da Housecat. He is one of those rare, charisma-oozing characters, whose musical and mental eccentricity comes from a genuine place. He’s never afraid to take a risk to reach new ground. An ever-moving target, his various incarnations have seen him morph from resolute acid and techno warrior to avant-garde nu-skool electro-disco pioneer to the man who gave one of the world’s most famous rappers a new lease of house-infused life long before major labels were putting every urban artist on their books over anemic 4/4 beats. A name as synonymous with house music as it is with being the moniker of one of the greatest innovators of the current electro sound, Thee Cat will inject you with eclectic sounds of electronic music at Global Sound System stage!
Exploded on to the scene in 2011, house music hottest property Alex Kenji will be taking over Global Sound System to belt out his infectious blend of an impeccable house selection ranging from bouncy Italo house to tech sound style. His breakthrough chart-topping hit ‘Pressure’ has scored Best Progressive Track at the 2012 International Dance Music Awards and became a #1 track on Beatport Top 100 along with another chart success ‘Get Funky’ nominated as Best House Track in the 2012 Beatport Awards. Sitting under the global spotlight with over 100 releases, don’t miss this overwhelming talent in action!
Adding to the line up, our local talents. Consist of winners and champions in their years in dance music scene. First up, the infamous household names in Malaysia nightlife, the bass ambassador – Mr. Nasty and GuruGuru. They have bagged numerous awards such as JUICE Magazine 2005 Best New Local DJ, Martell’s Rising Personalities 2007 to¬ name a few. Then there’s Phil K. Lee – Kuala Lumpur’s serial festival DJ. Having played major festivals with the likes of Tiësto, Above & Beyond and Avicii past years, he is the Found @ Thirst champion in 2010.
Joining in will be a familiar name with a career expands to the core history of dance music in the country, a techno maestro, one third of Altered Image (winner of Heineken Thirst 2005), crowd favorite – Terence C. He is praised for his knife-edge brilliant set that canvassed deep house, progressive house to techno by many, and has warmed up audiences for practically every A-List DJ you can name, a roll call that reads like a history lesson in electronic dance music that includes John Digweed, Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong, Chicane, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Carl Cox, Nic Fanciulli and Paul van Dyk, with many visiting stars requesting that he opens for them.
History in the making! Festival ticket includes admission to the conference event and will be available for RM109 (early bird) and RM129 (presale) soon at all AirAsia RedTix counters and online. VIP tickets will be announced. Get ready for your biggest electronic music festival to explode this April 2013.
